It’s not just one day of activities and brochures…
One of the main priorities of the AAFC is to provide valuable resources and workshops for families year round via the AAFC Aftercare Program.
It is not about one day of activities and brochures, but viable lasting connections! We connect families to those people, organizations and programs within their city who are advocators of strengthening families and communities. The AAFC partner organizations are established leaders in their respective fields. They are leaders not because they are the most well-known. They are viewed upon as leaders by their communities due to their commitment to be proactive in their mission of supporting families.
One of the main priorities of the AAFC is to provide valuable resources for the participants. The partner organizations that participate in the conference are not there just to give you a 30 minute pep talk during sessions. Their objective is to establish long-term relationships with participants in order to effectively carry out the mission of strengthening families and communities.
Partner organizations will provide further workshops and information sessions throughout the year via the AAFC Aftercare Program. This program consists of partner organizations who are the top producers in their fields of expertise and are willing to provide participants with hands on as well as virtual assistance and resources. Our AAFC Virtual Program supports a national participation initiative as partner organizations and participants from across the country can provide and receive assistance via scheduled teleconferences as well as on-line courses. An AAFC Aftercare Program calendar of scheduled sessions will be provided to all participants at the conference and posted on the AAFC website.
We strive to empower and evoke the spirit of change within families and communities. This initiative demonstrates to families the importance of advocating for their needs and the needs of their community by simply communicating and connecting with others. This will be accomplished as we continue to work with active partner organizations in each city to establish direct links between families and resources.
All aspects of the AAFC Aftercare Program initiative will be evaluated and documented on film to record the process, monitor the progress and provide comprehensive outcome reports to continue to develop a more cohesive initiative for the future.
The AAFC and Aftercare Program is open to all family structures, cultures, religious, and diverse backgrounds.
