Community Pavillion
The AAFC Community Pavillion provides information sessions, resources and workshops regarding employment, media and community relations, environmental/eco-friendly education, violence in communities, church and community relationships, safety/law enforcement relations, community services and more.
The conference area in this pavillion will feature an AAFC Community Cafe consisting of collaborative dialogue and active engagement with attendees concerning family, education, health care and other issues within African American families and communities. The AAFC values the voices within communities. The information and resources collected will be filmed to evaluate and develop cohesive aftercare programs and assist in the initiation of legislation to improve the lives of families and communities.
If you are an educator, speaker, workshop facilitator, community activist or program director working with community initiatives as defined above, the AAFC would like you to join this initiative.
The 2009 African American Family Conference will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center 1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
